Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Floyd Walter and Laler G. Hindman McClellan. He was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.where he was a Quarter Century Club member.  He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, Ware Shoals Masonic Lodge #306 A.F.M. and a member of the Hejaz Shriners of Greenville.

Surviving in addition to his wife of Ware Shoals is a son, C.W. McClellan and wife, Vivian, Ware Shoals, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Deanna McClellan Gates , He was the last surviving member of his immediate family

Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Greenwood Memorials Gardens with Rev. Leon Jones officiating.
