She was the daughter of Barnie and Hosie Walker of Poplar Springs Community, Ware Shoals, and a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.  

She was pre-deceased by sisters Frances Isbill (Joe) and Jeanette Elledge (Basco).  

She is survived by nieces and nephews Bonnie Isbill Davis of Travelers Rest, SC, David and Cathy Elledge of Irmo, SC, Edward and Jan Isbill of Lawrenceville, GA, John and Linda Isbill of Lawrenceville, GA, and Jana (Elledge) and Dan Smith of Little Rock, AR. Thirteen great nieces and nephews and their thirteen children complete her family.

During the last years of her life, her friend and caregiver, Cynthia Suber, became a special member of her family. She was also especially close to her cousin, Helen Traynham Crisp. 

Marian retired as business manager of Laurens School District 55 in 1985 after working there more than 40 years. She began her career as a teacher at Ford High School following her graduation from Winthrop College. 

Following an 11 a.m. burial on Wednesday, April 24 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, the family will receive church and community friends. They will also receive friends following a memorial service at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community Chapel at 2 p.m. that day.
