Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Lelion D. and Ann Rush Elledge Sr. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Limestone College. She was a former teacher and a homemaker.

Surviving are: a son; Alan E.  Ackerson of Ware Shoals, four daughters; Dinah C. Ackerson of California, Drexel A. Pearman and Delia Brownlee, both of Ware Shoals, and Vivian J. Ackerson of Texas, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Lelion D. Elledge, Jr., and a sister Vivian E. Ball.

Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with  her cousin, Lt. Col George Rush, USAF (Ret) officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
