Born in Princeton, he was a son of the late Shuman and Mae Johnson Traynham. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, World War II, European Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from Riegel Textile Co. as Engineering Supervisor.
Surviving his wife of Baltimore, Md., a son, Jerry Traynham and wife Barbara of Raleigh, N.C., a daughter, Jane Traynham of Baltimore, Md., two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Frances Crumbacker and Doris McDonald and a granddaughter, Shannon Traynham.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Private interment will follow in the Garden of Memories.
