Born in Portage, N.Y., he was the son of the late Guy Harold and Susie Delaney Perkins. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a newspaper carrier for over forty years and retired from the retail convenience business.
Surviving is one daughter, Holly Jones of Honea Path, one sister; Genevieve “Jenny” Linzy; one brother; Basil Perkins, three grand-daughters; Donna (Rob) Theile, Anita Jones Brock and Katherine (Matt) Wheeler and 4 great-grandsons. He was predeceased by four brothers; Harold, Gerald, Roger and Elmer Perkins and a son-in-law; David Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM, Monday, February 25, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Gayle Summey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
