He was born and raised in Dublin, Ga., a son of the late Olen Edward and Dollie Woodard Howell. He relocated to Honea Path in 1970 where he was an active member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and retired from Oxford Industries as Manager of Huggins Garment Company. The joy of his life was time spent with his grandchildren who affectionately called him PaPa.
Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Orris Howell, Jr. and wife Ginny of Seneca, and Russ Howell and wife Lisa of Honea Path, a sister, Anne Howell Graham and husband Jimmy of Dublin, Ga., three grandchildren, Jamie Howell Crum and husband John, Kyle Howell and wife Brittany, and Courtney Howell, four great-grandchildren, Cason, Zach, and Dylan Crum, and Brayden Andrews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 2 P.M. Tuesday.
