Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Robert Edward and Lola Woods Madden. He was twice married 1st to the late Margaret Ann Madden. He was a member and a deacon of Princeton Baptist Church. He was also a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. for forty five years, a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard and a retired supervisor with Milliken.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: one son, James R. Madden of Honea Path; one daughter, Donna Marie Jenkins of Piedmont; one step-son, Rickey Dale Fleming of Honea Path; two step-daughters, Sherry Darlene Sanderson and Glenda Lee Blocker both of Honea Path; one grandchild, Jon David Jenkins; eight step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, E.D. Madden and one sister, Jessie McGaha.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Princeton Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Loner officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3PM prior to the service.
