Born in Flowery Branch, GA, she was a daughter of the late James Allen and Georgia Ann Capps Burgess. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She was retired after 35 years from Riegel Textile and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. She was faithful in the Lord’s work and loved her family.

Surviving are two brothers, Ellis and Calvin Burgess both of Belton, two sisters, Minnie Duncan of Taylors and Beulah Chapman of Honea Path, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Gary and Kenneth Cox, and three brothers, Warren and Louis Burgess, and Frank Wilson.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Monday, October 8, 2012, at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Caleb Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family will be at their respective homes.
