Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of Robert and Dorothy Lawter McClellan. She was a member of Cross Hill First Baptist Church. She was retired from Clinton Modern Wood Floor as a secretary.

Surviving in addition to the parents of Ware Shoals are two daughters, Sherry Burton and husband Johnny Ray of Ware Shoals and Marcy Gates-Smith and husband Jerry Lee of Edgefield, a brother C.W. McClellan and wife Vivian of Ware Shoals, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kerri Gates.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.
