Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Edgar Donald “Doc” and Clara Bell Lollis Ashley. He was of the Holiness Faith and was employed by Day & Zimmerman Construction Co.
Surviving are his wife of the home, five brothers, Wendel Ashley, William “Baby Doll” Ashley, James Edgar “Jimmy” Ashley, Danny Mac Ashley, and Donnie Wayne Ashley, all of Honea Path, a sister, Peggy Davis of Honea Path, two step-sons, Justin Manley of Belton and Jason Manley of Honea Path, and two grandchildren; six nieces and nephews and sixteen great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Rev. Paul Cooper and Rev. Eric Shuler officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
