Princeton – Juanita Wood Thompson, 88, widow of Alfred Eugene Thompson, of 19064 Hwy 76 West, died Thursday January 26, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late William Avery and Nora Redden Wood. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Thompson, along with her husband Alfred, owned and operated Thompson’s Exxon in Princeton for 30 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Thompson Evans of Princeton and Polly Ann Thompson of Mauldin and three grandchildren, Juliette Evans Abate of Charleston, Jonathan Evans and wife Halee of Anderson and Justen Evans of Princeton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, James and William Wood, and a sister, Nelle Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Sunday January 29, 2012 at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1PM.
The family is at the home of daughter Cheryl T. Evans, 18924 Hwy 76 West, Honea Path and will receive friends from 6-8PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 1450 Dunklin Bridge Rd, Honea Path, SC 29654 in memory of Alfred E. and Juanita W. Thompson.
