Born in Fulton County, Ga., she was a daughter of Verdell Shope Dowdy Jordan and the late Oscar Columbus Dowdy. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was retired from AnMed Health.

Surviving are her mother of Conyers, Ga., a daughter, Priscilla Sellers and husband Michael of Honea Path, three stepdaughters, four brothers, Larry James Dowdy and wife Mary and Tony O’Dell Dowdy and wife Brenda all of Murphysboro, Il., Troy Dowdy and wife Anita and  Ronnie Dowdy and wife Holly all of Covington, Ga., five sisters, Marie Blount and husband Freddie of Walnut Grove, Ga., Linda Denny and husband Jimmy of New Born, Ga., Shelba Bullard and husband James of Oxford, Ga., Dale Hilliard and husband Pete of Cross, S.C., and Vickie Lester and husband Mike of Covington, Ga., four grandchildren, Tiffany Armstrong, Kala King, Austin Sellers, and Collin Sellers, and two great-grandchildren, Timothy Jones and Karman Armstrong.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy Craine officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
