Anderson – Louis McMosley Ellis, Sr., 90, husband of Grace Alewine Gambrell Ellis, of 3902 Trail Rd., died Saturday at National Health Care of Anderson.
Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late Benson D. and Beulah Bannister Ellis. He was the oldest member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where he was active as a Deacon, Training Union Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Choir member. He was retired from Abbeville Hydro Electric Plant and a veteran of the S.C. National Guard. He was twice married, first to the late Tobitha Lewis Ellis.
Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Louis (Mack) Ellis, Jr. and wife Mary of Gilbert, three daughters, Joyce Ware of Greenwood, Betty Ann Looney and husband Olin of Post, Tx., and Annette Stone and husband Charles of Donalds, a stepson, Keith Gambrell of Anderson, a step-daughter, Sharon Wilson and husband Charlie of Belton, 10 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Kevin Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Guire and Rev. Rickey Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Bells United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. Monday. The family is at the home.
