Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late William Edgar and Eliza Minor McConnell. She was a charter member of Asaville Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Maxwell Phillips and husband Danny of Honea Path, three sisters, Elsie Brock of Honea Path, Mary Jo Stewart of Hollister, Fl., and Polly Wilson of Anderson, and three grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Susan Maxwell Wentzky, her step-mother, Susie Minor McConnell, five brothers, Billy, Aaron, L.E., Ed, and E.V. McConnell, and a sister, Gladys McConnell.
Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday at Asaville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Harold Walters and Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 prior to the service. The family is at the home of her daughter, Brenda Phillips, 109 Central Ave., Honea Path.
