Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Whaley G. and Minnie Lee Lollis Ross. She was a member of Donalds Church of God, where she taught Sunday school, worked with the Young Married Group, and sang in the choir and solo. She was retired from Springs Industries. 

Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 41 years of the home, are one son, Shane Whitt and wife Kim of Honea Path; one daughter, Erica W. Giles and husband Kevin of Honea Path, one sister, Iretta R. Youmans of Stillmoore GA, and five grandchildren, Rylan, Shanie Bryce, and Kiptyn Whitt and Parker and Angelica Giles.

Funeral services will be at 3PM Monday December 5, 2011 at Pruitt Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Lollis and Rev. John Christmas officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
