Honea Path - Arthur Pearson Foster, Jr., 92, of 2071 Highway 178 N., widower of Iris Ballard Foster, passed away at his daughter’s home in Honea Path, Tuesday, November 22, 2011.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Arthur Pearson, Sr. and Eugenia Wright Foster. He was a retired independent car salesman in Upstate, SC and Tampa, Fl. He formally worked at Welborn Chevrolet. He was the oldest member of The Lyndon Moore Post #50 American Legion in Honea Path. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and a former member and deacon of Keowee Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army, WWII and was a lover of Tennessee Walking Horses.
Surviving are his daughter, Patti McCurry, and husband Eddie and grandson Trey all of Honea Path; two sisters, Betty Foster of Tampa, Fl., and Ruth Foster Compton and husband Nick of Atlanta, Ga.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Jack, Charles and Bob Foster and Joe Devore; and a sister, Jean Rodriquez.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home on Thursday, November 24 from 7PM until 9PM. Services will be held at Honea Path First Baptist Church at 2PM on Friday, November 25 with Rev. Mike Moody, Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. Bill Parnell officiating.
