Honea Path – Lillian Smith Bonds, 88, widow of Melvin “Bud” Bonds, of 17 Ervin Street, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Lula Thomas Smith. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church where she served for twenty two years as church secretary. She and her late husband founded Bonds Mop Company.
Surviving are one daughter, Terrie Higginbotham and husband Ricky; one grandson, Scotty Higginbotham and wife Heather; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Jasmine Higginbotham, all of Honea Path. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Smith.
Graveside Services will be at 12PM Saturday October 29, 2011 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Robert Beaver officiating.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Terrie Higginbotham, 22 Pruitt St, Honea Path, and will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30AM.
