Honea Path – Roxie Lee Fisher Ashley, 51, wife of Robin Ashley, of 133 Thomas Drive, died Wednesday September 14, 2011 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Rutherfordton NC, she was a daughter of the late Jim Marshall and Sandra Burgess Fisher. She was a long time member of Honea Path First Baptist Church, and had been attending New Spring Church while her son was in college. Roxie was a 1982 Cum Laude graduate of Clemson University and received a Masters Degree from Clemson University in Special Education. She was school teacher at Palmetto Middle School for seventeen years and Anderson District #2 for the past eleven years. Roxie loved her family, BHP and Clemson football, and the beach.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are, one son, Jacob Lee Ashley of Pendleton; one daughter; Jordan Elizabeth Ashley of the home; two brothers; Jeb Fisher and wife Dana of Belton, and Jim Fisher and wife Mary of Prosperity; three sisters, Karen Massey and husband Gaines of Simpsonville, Beth Moore and husband Tom of Anderson, and Pam Jones and husband Jeff of Ware Shoals.
A Celebration of Roxie’s life will be held 2PM Friday September 16, 2011 at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody officiating.
The BHP Bears Football Team will serve as honorary attendees.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home.
