Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Milbert and Ruby Strickland Coker.  She attended Cross Road Pentecostal Church and was a retired nurse assistant for Anderson Hospital. 

Surviving are:  a son, Sammy Wayne Smith and wife Frankie Sue of Honea Path; two daughters, Beverly Smith of Belton and Debra Jean Elgin and husband Ray of Petersburg, Virginia; one brother, James Coker of Liberty; two sisters, Maganea Ann Hicks of Tennessee and Kathy Hopkins of Texas; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  She was predeceased by two sons, Douglas Michael Smith and William Randall Smith; one brother, Seth Boyd Coker and one sister, Doris Coker Madden.

Graveside Services will be held at 2PM Friday at the Garden of Memories with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating.
