Born in McCormick, she was a daughter of Leona Whitten Tippett and the late John C. Burkett.
Surviving are a daughter, Sally A. Burrows of Bluffton, a brother, Jimmy Prince of Ware Shoals, two sisters, Ann Parker of Hodges and Elaine Lewis of Bluffton, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son; William Scott Ashley and a sister; Pat Earnhardt.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
