Born on Aug 29, 1931 in Muncie, Indiana he was a son of the late Cleo and Dorothy Harrison Barnell. He was a member of Chiquola United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War, having retired as Staff Sgt. after 23 years of service with the U.S. Army and the S.C. National Guard. He was a member of Center Lodge #37 A.F.M.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years of the home, two sons, Ronald Coleman and wife Debbie of Honea Path and Dewayne Coleman and wife Rosie of White Springs, Fl., a daughter, Delores Richey and husband Freck of Honea Path, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Martha Jane Fulk and Martha Star, and a granddaughter, Kristie Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Slatten and Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories.
