RUTH ALLEN

Ware Shoals – Nannie Ruth Pitts Allen, 92, of 22 Walnut Street, widow of Otis Allen, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late John Acy and Brucie Helen Kellett Pitts. She was retired from Riegel Textile Co. and was a member of Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are a son, Ray Allen, Ware Shoals, a daughter, Bobby Jean White and husband, Jimmy, Ware Shoals, a sister, Frances Smith and husband, Bob, Ware Shoals and a brother, Leroy Pitts and wife, Doris, Ware Shoals. Also five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Jimmy Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with interment to follow. The Rev. Mark Lowe and Rev. Roger Hall will officiate. Active pallbearers will be A.D. Ashley, Michael Powell, Tim Allen, Joel Hall, Bobby Jo Powell and Gary Powell.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel prior to the service. The family is at the home of her daughter, 20 Green Acres Drive. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
