Zollie Fleming

Honea Path – Zollie Townsend Fleming, 85, widower of Melzena Smith Fleming, formerly of 117 Oak Drive, died Monday at AnMed Health Center.

Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Charlie Townsend and Mary Traynham Fleming. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and a graduate of Honea Path High School. He retired as Lieutenant from the Honea Path Police Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II. He had served as assistant Scout Master with Honea Path Troop # 5.

Surviving are a son, Scott Fleming and wife Melissa of Spartanburg, a daughter, Linda Fleming Koone and husband Mike of Greenwood, a brother, Rev. George Fleming of Mosley, Va., and four grandchildren, Rick Fleming and wife Chrissy, Katie Fleming, Matthew Koone and Laura Koone. He was pre-deceased by six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody and Rev. George Fleming officiating. Committal services will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
