JIMMY COLLINS


Jimmy J. Collins, 81, husband of Alice Godfrey Collins of 18226 Hwy 25 died at his home on Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was born in Inman SC, a son of the late William N. “Bill” and Louise Johnson Collins. He was retired from Grendel Mills and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Western Laurens County Fire Department.

Surviving besides his wife of the home are; a son, John William Collins and wife Patt of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Rosemary C. Ross and husband, Anthony, Ware Shoals, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn C. Hinton and two brothers, Billy Collins and Doug Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Woods and Mr. Deckard Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 124, Ware Shoals, S.C. 29692.
