Honea Path – Ruth Pruitt Ashley, 90, widow of the late C. Max Ashley, of Honea Path, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at her home.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Adeliah Adams Pruitt. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, an active Sunday School member, a member of the choir, and a homemaker.

Mrs. Ashley is survived by two daughters: Patsy A. Tribble of Honea Path, and Miriam A. Dunn and husband Bill of Honea Path; two grandchildren: Robin P. McCurley and husband Grant and Ashley D. Howard and husband Michael; and three great-grandchildren: Max McCurley, Bryson Howard, and Bentley Howard. She is also survived by special caregivers: Effy Gary, Tarsha Roebuck, Stephanie Glass, Letitia Calloway, and Quinn Calhoun; and special life-long friend, Cindy Hopper.

She is predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 10th at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeremy Colloms, Rev. Damion Hutchins, and Rev. Ricky Rice officiating.

The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 Saturday at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church social hall, prior to the service. Ware Shoals – Sheron Diane Kernells passed away on January 5, 2015 at Hospice of Laurens County.

Honea Path – Barbara Deloris Walter Haitz, 82, wife of Cornelius S. Haitz, of 116 Murray Avenue, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home.

Honea Path – Carl Wilbur Holt, 79, husband of Karen Sue Wells Holt, of 11 N. Anderson Street, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at AnMed Health Center.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa. he was a son of the late Howard Hatfield Holt and Erma Audrey Schmidt Holt. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and was a retired contractor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War and a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. and was a private pilot.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Ryan Lee Simmons of Greenville, three daughters, Tammy Antemesaris(Chris) of Winter Haven, Fl., Melanie Hahn (Jon) of Honea Path, and Ronda Leigh Lowe(Craig) of Winter Haven, Fl., a brother Howard Hatfield Holt, Jr. of Pensylvania, three grandchildren, Atticus Antemesairs, Logan Hahn, and Jonathan Hahn, and one great granddaughter, Ava Layne Hahn.
