Polly Kay

Greenville – Betty Pauline “Polly” Johnston Kay, 93, widow of Lewis “Mac” Kay, of Barnwood Circle, formerly of Honea Path, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her home.

 

Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Paul Johnston and the late Lila Gambrell Johnston McDougall. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and had formerly worked at Parke-Davis. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are: a daughter, Louanne (Taylor) Kay Newton of Greenville; two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth (Chris) Smith and Paul Matthew Fields; one great-grandchild, Mallory Elizabeth Mamo; and special nieces and nephews,, Brad (Betsy) Steele Sr., Paula Robert and Janice (Charlie) Rappleyea.

Mrs. Kay was preceded in death her parents; her husband; her daughter, Nancy Gayle Kay; her sister; Rebecca Johnston Steele; and her step father, Robert McDougall.

Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, January 22, 2024 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Robert Beaver officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 4 – 5:30 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path.
