Born in Donalds, SC, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Lougary and Clara Elizabeth Baldwin Smith. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church. Mrs. Hanks was retired from Blair Mill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are; her son, Don Hanks, Jr., of Honea Path; and special caregivers, Sandra Norman and Kathy Reamy.
Mrs. Hanks was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Walter, Elbert, Albert, Dale, Val, and Jim Smith; and five sisters, Ora Bell Worrill, Helen Chambers, Mae Pruitt, Mildred McClain, and Myra Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Deon Louw officiating. Burial will be private.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
