Born in Laurens County SC, she was a daughter of the late John Furman and Niza Mae Lindley Mahon. Dot is of Christian faith a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from Park Seed Company as a customer order processor, after retirement she delivered meals for Piedmont Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels. She loved watching Atlanta Braves baseball, loved bowling and participating in Senior Olympics.

Dot is survived by a son John Lee Banks (Marla); two grandchildren, Cameron Fisher (Marybeth) and Cortney Vance, and three great-grandchildren, Kelaya, Avery, and Isaiah; sisters-in-laws, Bobbie Mahon, Rachel Mahon, Norine Mahon and Alice Mahon; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son William Mahon “Bill” Banks, a sister, Helen Mahon Hall and her husband, Buck; and brothers, Lewis Mahon, Carl Mahon, Bill Mahon and Joe Mahon.
