Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Richard Larry and Mary Frances Brown Fields. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and a carpenter.

Surviving are: three brothers, Keith Fields of Anderson, Shannon Martin of Honea Path and Chris (Amanda) Newton of Abbeville; and three sisters, Rhonda Brooks of Anderson, Crystal Fields (Josh) Stockton of Greenwood and Angela (Tony) Gilstrap of Piedmont.

Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Russell Caldwell; and a brother, Jeffrey Brian Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday August 1 at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Fields officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
