Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Gene Paul Timms and the late Vernila Roseann Day. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Greenwood. He attended Ware Shoals High and received his GED from them in 2013. He worked at supervisor for Snead Builders of Greenwood for many years and retired from Eaton in 2023. He served as a volunteer fireman Waterloo Fire Department and was avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of the home, three sons, Douglas Timms, Christopher Donavan Timms, and Dustin Thomes Timms all of Greenwood, a daughter, Shanna Timms McAlister of Greenwood, a brother, Carroll Strickland (Amy) of Donalds, and a sister, Margaret South (Charles) of Ware Shoals, and six grandchildren, Brayden, Jax, Davis, Annastyn, Drake, and Zanye.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Thad Strickland and three sisters, Gwendolyn Strickland, Jeanleene Johnston, and Monteen Wren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM in Coldwater United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elberton, GA.
