Ann Wooten

Honea Path – Ann Coates Wooten, 86, widow of Samuel Boyd Wooten, of 1155 Holliday Dam Road, died Wednesday, October 22. 2025 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood.

 

Born in “Old Hundred” (in Greenville County), she was a daughter of the late William Sam and Elizabeth Hill Coates. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and was retired from her work as a Dental Assistant to Dr. John Burry in Fountain Inn.

Mrs. Wooten is survived by her son Jamie Wooten (Lisa) of Honea Path; her daughter Sandra Jordan (Perry) of Garner, NC; her sister Jane Coates Walker (Buck) of Traveler’s Rest; eight grandchildren: Brent Jordan, Jeremy Jordan, Lindsay Lusk, Kayla Maddox, Logan Wooten, Casey Wooten, Bo Wooten and Jessi Wooten; ten great-grandchildren: Hannah, Henry, Oliver, Hope and Ella Jordan, Weston Maddox, Corbin Maddox, Delaney Anderson, Ty Lusk and Sam Wooten; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Samuel Boyd Wooten, Jr, and her daughter Elizabeth “Libby” Wooten Holliday and her three brothers: William Sam Coates Jr., Robert Cecil Coates and James Brooks Coates.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 25 at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Perry Jordan and Rev. Mike Moody officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 prior to the service at the church.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, October 26 at the Garden of Memories.
