Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late James Prue and Nellie Fields. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired carpenter.

Surviving are: his life long companion, Betty Hamby of Belton; his son, Charles (Charlene) Fields of Honea Path; his brother, Jerry Fields of Anderson; his grandson, Matthew Fields of Belton; and his beloved dog, Bella.

Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Buck Fields, Carlton Fields and Dan Fields; and his granddaughter, Amanda Joanna Fields.

A gathering of family and friends will he held from 2-3 P.M. Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Pruitt Funeral Home.
