Born in Abbeville, he was a son of Helen Morris Bridges and the late Lewis Junior Bridges. He was of the Baptist Faith and had retired as a welder and carpenter.

Surviving are a son, Matthew Bridges of Anderson, a daughter, Taylor Bridges of Hodges, two brothers, Frankie Bridges (Patti) of Honea Path, and Ronnie Bridges of Hodges, a sister, Linda Bridges Irwin of Greenwood, and two grandchildren, Kamden Bridges and Brynlee Morse.

Family memorial services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at New Mercies Baptist Church, Ware Shoals with Rev. Bobby Mabry officiating.
