Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Alver Ira and Thelma Lucille Ricketts Ashley. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was retired from Huggins Garment Co.

Surviving are: her son, Ronnie Gene Gambrell and wife June of Honea Path; two brothers: Lynn Ashley and Skeet Ashley and wife Clara, all of Honea Path; a sister: Edna Nimmons of Honea Path; and two grandchildren: April Gambrell, and Katie Gambrell Davis and husband Patrick.

She was predeceased by five brothers: James, Rev. Dale, Ralph, Jerry, and Albert Ashley.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Dyar officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home of her son, Ronnie: 644 Tornado Rd., Honea Path, and will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM Friday, prior the service at the funeral home.
