Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of Berry B. and Thelma Brown Owens. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

Ms. Godfrey is survived by one son: James “Randy” Godfrey (Judy) of Hickory Tavern; two daughters: Cathy Scruggs of Hickory Tavern, and Brandi Godfrey of Hodges; one brother: Ronald Owens (Loraine) of Hodges; five grandchildren: Jamie Scruggs, Haley Scruggs, Zachary Owens, Bailey Brown, and April Silva (Raul); six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by one son: Jonathan Mark Godfrey; and one sister: Martha Jo Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
