Ware Shoals – Billy Franklin Richey, 78, widower of Barbara Ann Queen Richey, of 19 Ware St., died Monday, May 4, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Clarence and Jewel Burell Richey. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church. Bill was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having proudly served his country for 22 years, 1955-1976. He was retired from Michelin Tire Corp.

Surviving are: three sons, Michael (Denise) Richey of Cameron, NC, Joel (Sharon) Richey of Laurens and Douglas Richey of Allen, TX, two grandchildren, Kayla and Justin Richey, and a great-grandson, Preston Richey. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Richey.

Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Dan Compton officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
