Born in Ware Shoals, she was daughter of the late Luther Claude and Carrie Lou Lollis Ross. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Surviving are: her son, Durand “Peanut” (Jennifer) Ashley of Abbeville, four daughters, Teresa (Rick) Holland, Candace (Glenn) Powell, Carmen Ashley and Lynn Stevenson, all of Ware Shoals, two sisters, Sue Baker of Hodges, and Bonnie Traynham of Honea Path, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, a sister, and two grandchildren, James Ashley “Little Jimmy” Bible and Thomas Durand “PJ” Ashley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Ware Shoals Cemetery.
