Glendel Ashley

Ware Shoals – Glendel Marie Brown Ashley, 69, wife of Lester W. Ashley, of 38 Green Acres Drive, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Winfield Fulton and Ellen Walker Brown. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Belks of Greenwood.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a daughter, Lori McClellan Wood and husband Chris of Easley, a step-son, Chris Ashley of Simpsonville, six sisters, Loraine Cheshire, Laura Osborne, Elaine O’Dell, Ruby Warren, and Denise Moody all of Ware Shoals, and Maxine Brown of Newberry, two grandchildren, John-Preston Wood and Maggie Wood, and two step-grandchildren, C.J. Ashley and Bree Ashley. She was also survived by special friends, Henry and Shirley Butler and Donnie McClellan. She was pre-deceased by a step-son, Rodney Ashley, two brothers, Jerry and Sonny Brown, and a sister, Mary Frances Shepherd.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Bowling and Rev. Paul Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of her sister, Loraine Cheshire, 99 Smith St. Ext. Ware Shoals. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
