Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Joyce Bruce Vaughn and the late Reuben Vernon Vaughn. He was of the Baptist faith and a US Army veteran. He was retired from Wells Aluminum.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Anderson are: a son, Christopher Joe Vaughn of the home, a daughter, Tonya Renee Robinson of Belton, three brothers, Doug, Tony and Eddie Vaughn and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Vaughn.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethany World Outreach with Rev. Tab Scarboro officiating.
