Charles Burton

Honea Path – Charles Ray Burton, 79, of 225 Charles Burton Road,  husband of Dorothy Juanita Taylor Burton, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home.

 

Born in Anderson County he was a son of the late Carrol and Edna Owenby Burton. He was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and was retired from civil service. He was a former Boy Scout leader and a member of Greenville Woodcarving.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Dennis Ray Burton and wife Sandy of Honea Path, three daughters, Donna Elaine Brock and husband Rickey, Wanda Jones and husband James, and Janice Horne and husband Micheal, all of Honea Path, a brother Harold Burton of Honea Path, a sister, Betty Joyce Ashley of Donalds, seven grandchildren, Gatlin Burton, Bryson Burton, Shannon VanPelt, Amber Childress, Martaca Jones, Makayla Horne, and Kaleb Horne, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Travis Ashley, a brother Joe Burton, and a sister Hazel Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, April 6,2015 at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Charity of One’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
