Lillie Long

Donalds – Lillie Moore Long, 86, of Donalds died peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was the widow of Clyde Griffin Long. She was born in Anderson County to the late James Allen and Lila Ivester Moore.

 

In earlier years she was a longtime Sunday School teacher and was a lifetime nurturer and example of Christian living to others. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Honea Path.

She is survived by son Clyde Allen “Rocky” Long and wife Debbie, and daughter Dale Long Magaha and husband Freddy all of Donalds; grandchildren Jennifer Magaha Goldman and husband Sean of Greenwood, and Gavin Magaha of Craytonville; and great-grandchild Sawyer Goldman. Also surviving are sisters Shelby Stone and husband Gordon of Donalds, and Ruth Burton of Due West; several nieces and nephews and their children.

Lillie was an avid reader and a lover of working with her flowers. Known for her humor and sheer joy of life, she was loved by her family and many others. She was known as “The Hat Lady” by fellow church members as she never appeared at a Sunday morning worship service without a hat.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Dyar and Rev. Richard Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter, Dale Magaha, 213 Martin Road, Donalds, and will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home.
