Born in Greenwood County he was a son of the late James William and Sylvia Acker Bell. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Greenwood and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was owner of Bell Brothers, Inc.

Surviving are his spouse of 55 years of the home, two sons, James Bell of Due West and Danny Bell of Donalds, two daughters, Anna Marie Shiles of Donalds and Connie Martin (Mike) of Greenwood., two brothers, David William (Nancy) Bell and James Calhoun (Fannie Mae) Bell both of Donalds, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Friday, January 16, 2015 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Bishop Timothy Wren and Elder Bo Patterson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Greenwood.
