Joyce Gilmer

Honea Path – Joyce Verina Stone Gilmer, 84, widow of Joe Roy Gilmer, of 103 Kay St, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Lee Roy and Vergie Jessie Mae Ashley Stone. She was member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Solutia.

Surviving are: her son, Jackie Roy (Rut) Gilmer of Honea Path, her daughter, Ophelia (Paul) Brewington of Pendleton, two sisters, Christeen Boyter of Ware Shoals and Shirley Brock of Belton, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.

The families are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 10 – 11:30 a.m. Monday prior to the service.
