Born in Abbeville County, she the daughter of the late Albert and Pearlene Woodall Seawright. She was a member of Greenville Presbyterian Church and was retired as a school teacher in Anderson and Greenwood Counties after 32 years of service. She was the owner and operator of McCall-Golden Tax and Bookkeeping Service of Honea Path. Mrs. Golden was a friend and mentor to all who knew her. She was twice married, first to the late Robert Pruitt Smith.

Surviving are: two daughters, Dawn (Don) Yeargin and Tonya Smith, both of Donalds, two brothers, James R. “Jimmy” (June) Seawright and Jerry (Kathy) Seawright, both of Donalds, three grandchildren, Dawn Marie Reed of Anderson, Amber Yeargin of Donalds, and Katie Wertz of Honea Path, four great-grandchildren, Chandller and Beckette Reed of Anderson, Raegan Yeargin of Donalds and Kelan Reed of Anderson, a niece Jessica Stewart and a nephew Justin Seawright. She was predeceased by a daughter Angel Joy Smith and a brother, Olin Seawright.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Greenville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jonathan Bowling and Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be any former students or friends whose life has been touched by Mrs. Golden.
