Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of Nancy Drucilla Vermillion Burdette and the late Claude David Burdette.  She was a member of Emanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle of Piedmont.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are:  one son, David Emanuel Johnson and wife Lida of Donalds; one brother, Eddie Mercer; two sisters, Corry Mercer and Virginia Ann Pruitt; two grandchildren, Cadience Vallery Johnson and Nancy Jean Johnson.  She was predeceased by a son, Christopher Bradley Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Bell officiating.

The family is at the home, and will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 – 2:30 PM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elaine Johnson fund, c/o Pruitt Funeral Home, PO Box 266, Honea Path, SC 29654.
