Bud Ellison

Belton – James Haywood “Bud” Ellison, 75, husband of Mary Ellen Bratcher Ellison, of 126 Griffin Rd, died Sunday August 10, 2014.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Albert and Louise Mulligan Ellison. He was of the Baptist faith and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was retired from Harper Corp.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 55 years are: two sons, Jimmy (Rita) Ellison of Honea Path and Richard (Tina) Ellison of Belton, a daughter, Jessie Ellison of the home, a brother, Ricky (Suzanne) Ellison of Leicester, NC, four sisters, Shelby Campbell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ann (Tommy) Findley of Piercetown, Jane (Jimmy) Webb of Simpsonville, Linda (Roy) Hill of Asheville, eleven grandchildren, Allison Bale, Amanda Gambrell, Jennifer Dickerson, Nichole Bowman, Scooter Broome, Cathy Robertson, Ricky Ellison, Crystal Ellison, Antonio Oliver, Carlos Oliver and Michael Ellison, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a great-great grandson, Jackson Lee Gambrell.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Otis Burns officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to The National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
